Hi lovely readers,
Seasons come and go and new trends emerge every year. This Autumn/Winter 2018 is one full of beautiful statement pieces for the modern feminine woman. For this post, I’m going to focus on the easiest trends to style this autumn.
Into The Wild
Animal prints are so on-point this season. We saw them on the A/W18 runways in different styles, from bold red leopard print top-to-toe snakeskin at Tom Ford to seriously chic animal print trench coats at Victoria Beckham’s show. You can overstate the look by going head-to-toe in one print or understate it with accents of animal print. Don’t be shy to make a statement and mix zebra prints with snake skin for a cool contrasting look. Whichever way you choose to style it, all eyes will be on you.
Trade you good old black Chelsea boots for some white booties this season. Straight out of the 70’s, this trend has been spotted on many celebrities and bloggers in Europe. By now, it should be an autumn wardrobe White booties can instantly turn a plain outfit into a winning look. You can rock them with jeans, dresses, vinyl pants or even a check suit. This season, they should be on your must-haves list.
Checks are coming in all shapes and sizes this season. Designers brought them back stronger that ever inspired by the 90’s influence that has taken the year by storm. Think Kurt Cobain’s plaid t-shirts and you get the idea. Wear it head-to-toe or choose one statement piece in plaid, whatever makes you feel more comfortable. The best way to wear it this season is with a plaid coat. Don’t be afraid to use bold colour plaid for a memorable look.
Dark Lip Hues
Now that winter is coming, our clothing tends to be in a darker colour palette. Add a pop of colour to any outfit by adding your favourite dark lipstick. From bright reds, to burgundy, choose a colour that suits your skin tone. These colours are harder to apply so it’s always helpful to use a lip liner so your lipstick doesn’t bleed out and ends up all over your face. Don’t be afraid to use a lip brush for a more precise application. Do skip the lip gloss and last but not least, don’t forget to check you teeth.
We all love floral dresses for summer, but this season fashion labels are giving them a darker more dramatic twist by pairing them against a darker background. From bouquets of flowers to small elegant flowers, many designers like Gucci presented floral dresses in their AW18 collections. To style it, pair a romantic peasant dress with a chunky knit sweater for a boho-chic look. Go gothic meets grungy and use some lace-up boots and a leather jacket to roughen up your look.
