Beach cover ups are the perfect way to dress up your swimwear and give it a resort wear look for your next vacation. They are also a great way to cover areas of the body that we can be most self-conscious of. Below I’ll cover my favourite beach cover up trends and how to effortlessly style them.
Sarongs Cover Up
Sarongs have always been a popular beach cover up. They are easy to wrap around your waist and come in different sizes and prints. You can also style them in so many different ways which make them incredibly versatile. Here you can watch a great video on 12 ways to style a sarong .
Crochet Cover Ups
A growing trend this season are fishnet or crochet skirts or pants. I’ve found a few online that are very feminine and sexy without being vulgar. Huge plus that many come with matching tops. I’ve linked my favourites below.
Kimono Cover Ups
Kimono beach cover ups have been around for some time and are here to stay this summer. They just look so cool and put together without requiring much effort. You can wear them open, tie them in the front to give you a bit more coverage or add a pair of distressed jeans to give your outfit a boho chic look. I suggest choosing a kimonos that matches your swimwear well. For example, if you have a solid colour bathing suit, you might want to match it with a kimono in a print that has some details in the colour of the bathing suit. Finish it with some layered necklaces and you’ve nailed the look.
Kimonos can also be very sexy in a sheer or lace fabric that allows your tan to glow through. This is my favourite way to wear them. You will mainly find them in white and black in different lace patterns.
The Boyfriend Shirt Cover Ups
Another beach cover up trend that is very popular is using a boyfriend button down shirt open in front or knotted at the front with jeans. This looks great with a Panama hat.
Once you’ve chosen your beach cover up, add a great hat and some sunnies to add the finishing touches. Layering necklaces also look very chic. Now you’re ready to jet off. Have fun in the sun! xx
